Delores J. Ross 1932-2020
YOUNGSTOWN--Delores Jean Ross, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her son's home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jean, as she preferred to be called, was born on November 16, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio, the only child of Howard L. and Elizabeth J. Hemmons Chambers. She was formerly a long-time member of Price Memorial AME Zion Church, singing in several choirs and serving on the Usher Board. She had been most recently a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She attended The Rayen School and worked as a Housekeeper & Laboratory Assistant for the Youngstown Hospital Association for more than 25 years, retiring in 1989.
She leaves to cherish her memory three children; Linda Ross-Dunbar of Columbus, OH, Thomas (Regi) Ross III of Las Vegas, NV and Clarence Ross of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; Kendra Ross of Pittsburgh, PA, Darren Ross of Brooklyn, NY, David Dunbar and Erin Dunbar of Columbus, OH, Jordyn Ross of Las Vegas, NV and Reydonya Richardson of Ashville, AL; eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of more than 62 years, Thomas J. Ross, Jr.
A private interment service will be held at Tod Homestead Cemetery, Evergreen Section, on Saturday May 23, 2020 at 11:00 am.
