Emma Joyce Broadhead

January 1, 1927 ~ August 30, 2020 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Tribute

Emma Joyce Golder Broadhead, age 93, was the light of her family's life, A True Angel, and ready to return to her Heavenly Home. A 65-year resident of Las Vegas, NV, formerly from Salt Lake City, UT, she passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2020, surrounded by family who adore her. She was born January 1, 1927, to parents Albert James & Emma Elizabeth Brown Golder, and is survived by her loving younger sister, Joanne. She had dreams of being a Navy Nurse even though she was scared of the water. Upon moving to Las Vegas, she continued her pursuits in the Nursing field which gave her tremendous pride and great responsibility. After a successful career as a Nurse, she desired to enjoy a slower pace, and chose to work as a Clerical Typist at George E. Harris Elementary School. On June 14, 1949, she married the man of her dreams, Arthur Avon Broadhead, together raising two children, Randall Broadhead (Artricia) and Theresa Broadhead Sanchez (Amo). Her warm, caring manner was evident in everything she did, and she had many friends whom she loved dearly. The joy of her life was watching her grandchildren and their posterity grow—Robert (Patricia), Crystal (Bryan), Jeremy (Hayley), Alexis (Rhett), Joseph (Tabitha), and Tyler (Jalynn); Seven grandchildren; Ten great grandchildren; One great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband, Avon, her grandson, Merrill, and sisters Marjorie and Gloria. Joyce and Avon served for several years as Service Missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Las Vegas Bishops Storehouse. Joyce also served as a community advocate for several community organizations, such as Disabled American Veterans. Their greatest enjoyment was dancing, especially square-dancing at Senior Citizen Centers. She has touched each of our lives individually in a unique manner, and will be greatly missed and remembered. Laid to rest on September 18, 2020, at Bunker's Memory Gardens Memorial Park next to her Sweetheart.
