Maria Conception Galindo

Maria Conception Torres passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 2, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 15, 1937, in El Paso, Texas. Her parents were Ricardo and Aniceta Torres. She spent her childhood in El Paso and graduated from Bowie High School. Mary had five brothers and sisters. They were Richie, Louis, Neto, Lencho, Julia, Lina and Roberto. Roberto is the only surviving sibling.

Maria married Cesar A. Galindo in 1961, in El Paso, Texas. From there they moved to Arizona, then California and settled in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1967. Cesar and Maria have been residents of Las Vegas for over 55 years. She was employed by the Clark County School and retired as a family teachers aide.

Mary has five children. Two sons, Jesse and Cesar Jr., and three daughters, Blanca Isela McGuire, Martha Bunderson, and Gloria Susanne(Suzie) Galindo. She has great grandchildren, who are James Henderson, Tyler Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Cesar Galindo Jr., Jr., Ricco Galindo, Joseph Lyon, Ian Fox and Olivia Fox. Mary has seven great grandchildren. They are Oliver Lyon, Lilly Lyon, Donovan Scott, Chloe Scott, Elise Galindo, Lukas Galindo and Jakob Galindo.

One of Mary’s most outstanding attributes was her love for people and her loving concern for all those she met. She was always quick to look for ways to help those around her. There were occasions in her younger years that she would take food to those in need in the community when her own family barely had enough groceries for their own needs. She was always willing to share with others, whether it was physical or spiritual assistance. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 30 years and was an active proclaimer of the good news. She volunteered many hours to assisting people to learn of the Bible’s hope for the future by conducting Bible studies over the years.
