MARY "GRACE" GUFFY 1926-2020
Mary "Grace" Guffy, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Grace was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on January 27, 1926 to Walter Lee and Willie Brown. She married George H. "Dick" Guffy on May 11, 1946 and had two children, Carol and Sue. She and George moved to Davison, Michigan for employment opportunities in 1955. Grace and her family lived in Davison, Michigan and she was a small business owner running retail stores until her retirement and family's move to Las Vegas in 1980.

A 40-year resident of Las Vegas, Grace took on several additional roles during her retirement including working for Vegas World/Stratosphere in the Media and Human Resources departments, selling Avon, and working for Williams-Sonoma. She was an avid golf fan. She was also an integral part of her grand-daughter playing the game and transported her to practice and numerous golf events. Throughout her years she also volunteered her time with the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association, as well as with the Las Vegas Founders Club assisting with the media during the PGA Tour's stop in Las Vegas. Grace had a huge green thumb and loved her yard and flowers, especially her roses.

Grace was the matriarch of her large family. She was a strong woman southern woman who exhibited an abundance of elegance and grace and was a friend and confident to all she knew. She was preceded in death by her husband George, daughter Carol Busch, grandson Larry Busch, and brothers Buster Brown, Charlie Brown, Harry Brown, and Bill Brown, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughter Sue Guffy, son-in-law Keith Busch, grand-daughter Staci Anderson (Travis) all of Las Vegas; great-grandson Taylor Busch of Michigan; sisters Ann Kesler, Dot Eller, and Beckie Burrows all of Salisbury, North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace will be missed dearly, but her love and the legacy she bestowed upon us will be forever with us.
