Tribute

Savannah Davis was born to the union of George Brown and Savannah Davis Brown in Tallulah, Louisiana on November 1, 1937. Her uncle and Aunt Lafayette and Mary Burns raised Savannah. She attended Thomas Town High School. After high School, she later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she accepted Christ into her life.
In 1966, Savannah met the love of her life Billy Joe Mumphery Senior; they later joined in holy matrimony. They had a special love for each other and their family. Mother Savannah had a heart of gold. Not only did she love her birth children, she extended her love raising countless foster children, giving them a safe haven to be cultivated in God.
Savannah being led by the Lord, to become a member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Alexander. As she grew in the Lord in 1976, she became a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late E. C. Kline, which is presently under the leadership of Pastor McKinley Hardman where she remained a faithful member until her death, serving and co-laboring for Christ.
Mother Savannah served in various parts of the ministry, she was a member of the choir, the hospitality committee, and the mother's board until her health stared to fail. Even though Mother Savannah was not able to attend the house of worship faithfully, she gracefully remained in the presence of our Lord and supported the ministry.
